This Year’s “Free Comic Book Day” Brings out the Stars at the House of Secrets.
Every year, Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is a great celebration at your House of Secrets! Kind of like Holloween, but without all that delicious candy. This year, Paul & Company put out all the stops to make sure that the fun and fascination of the comic experience would come to life right there in the store, particularly for the next generation of young comic readers.
Paul invited some of his superhero and artist pals to greet customers, do the art thing and take pictures with our patrons - young and old. The store was jumping with families bringing in babies, tweens and every age in between to have some fun and get some free comics.

While Diamond Distribution initially conceived of FCBD, it has been up to retailers to really make the most of this industry effort to promote reading and provide free comics to interested new readers.

With the economy as it is, it's understandable that many families have economic priorites that don't include comics. So any opportunity to share with kids/ families the fun of comics is a rare and precious thing. Parents will be happy to find out that “kid friendly” comics have been making a comeback over the last few years. [see Kids & Comics]
The House of Secrets staff is always ready to recommend and help you find
comics appropriate for young readers. If you plan to bring the kids, the weekend
is a great time to come into the shop. Floor traffic is typically on the lighter
side giving you our undivided attention to find the best read to inspire,
educate and entertain young minds.
